Old Age and Treachery will outperform Youth and Inexperence. The thing is, getting older is starting to be painful.

We had a mixture of showers, overcast and downright cloudbursts Saturday.  But today was about as nice as you could ask for – a little overcast,  highs in mid-80s, and light breeze.

Mary and I took the girls on "An Adventure".  We drove up to Mexico to the 54 Diner and head breakfast and then continued on to Hannibal, Mo to their 4'th of July days.  Hannibal, being the home town of Mark Twain and a lot of other river heritage, really put on a lot of show for family entertainment over the 4'th.

One of the highlights (for me anyway) is their annual mud volleyball tournament.   They play in knee-deep mud about as thick as gravy.

They have a shower and hose off area beside the pits for contestants to clean up after a match.  I bet there is are still a lot of mud rings around the motel bathtubs.

We only spent a couple of hours there and we had a great time.
