I may have uncovered a new niche market. I got a job  to build a fake store front for a movie set. Here's what I came up with.. Looks fairly robust but ain't. The board and batten is only 3/8 thick. The whole thing was made from a single 12' pine log. The windows are fake...

You may well have found a good niche market. Is this a major film company? If they like your work, you might be doing all sorts of things for them.

A guy I know provides vehicles, among other things, for movie sets. He has warehouses around the country housing old cars. He also knows where he can find them if need be. Its not unusual on a long lens shot to blow up the same car a half dozen times. Blow it up, slap plywood doors on it and paint it, blow it up again.

Looks good. Aint retirement fun? bg

Aren't we glad that retirement doesn't mean quitting work  ???    ;D

Naw, no such luck. It's a local church group in colaboration with the local tv cable co. I also do most of the sound work, wireless lapel mics on all the characters. video is handled by the cable co.

I've been fortunate to supply lumber and other items to three movies including, "Waterboy" with Adam Sandler and "Striptease" with Demi Moore. They were interesting customers! ;D
