Two workshops are coming up that may be of interest.
The TF Guild is having a conference in March at Old Salem, NC. It is a beautiful village if you've never been. One topic will be on the Burr Truss...Yo Subsailor  ;)

April 3-5 VA Tech will be holding their Structural Design with Wood short course. I took this last year and got alot out of it.

I'm assuming the Burr truss mentioned is the new bridge that Blue Ridge Timberwrights built there.

I've been reading from a link the TF GuildĀ posted on their conference. It's from the earliest Moravian settlement in the area, they'll be touring the church there.

I had always heard the cradle of forestry was really somewhere around Old Salem. This is where it was. This page is an interesting read.

Has there been anything planned for the gulf south? To the folks in the TF guild, please keep in mind all the reconstruction down here, it would be a good opportunity to introduce some "new-old" techniques.

I know that several individuals and small groups have been down there to look at possible projects, but this coming years rendezvous and workshops have yet to be announced.
