Hi:

Has anyone ever used a Makita curved base planer for peeling logs.  We need to peel a LOT of 8" diameter 12-20' Ponderosa Pine and want to see if anyone has had any luck power peeling with a planer or other tool...

Thanks

I can't say for trying but I suspect it'd be hell on the knives and tend to clog something terrible.

Been there done that wayyy to much. We actually debarked with a spud first then used the planer. An absolutely beautiful, job goes very quickly as well. The odd spot that sill had bark on it tended to make alot of dust and it still planed out nicely. We did not have a with gumming up, we were doing spruce. We did have to rewire the cord all the bending broke all the copper strands in the line.
