tj240

hood loaders are fine are you talking a  truck mount like the 7000 or the larger ;ike a 24000. if it is jerky adjust the pressures.
work with my father[jwilly] and my son. we have a 240 tj 160 barko[old] works great three generations working together

I have a hood 7000 on my log truck, been a real good loader. They all run about the same, ive got a hood, serco and barko loaders and cant find fault with any of them. The big hood loaders seem ok, my cousin had a 22000 for a while, they seem easier to work on than others.

Nothing wrong with a hood!!! there all jerky until you get used to the controls! ;D usually when someone tells me some thing with hydraulics is jerky ,that usually means it responds quickly! ;D ;D Don

ya it is a truck mount     but got a better deal traded a good running 353 Detroit for a 75 gmc 10 wheeler with a 6v53 and a 110 prentice loader the truck is ok but not a bmw will make a good landing loader  ;D

Maine logger88

Those old 110s were a pretty good old loader we have one it will either lift what's in the bucket or tip the truck over. Does the 6v53 have a veritable speed governer?

not to shur did not look at the truck to good was more looking at the loader  we have a 110 on the 85 gmc brig  the loader has been on 6 different trucks over the years  its a little slow but gets the job done  don't need to load 20,000 thousand feet an hour  ;D

I bought my Hood 7000 from a guy whose employees said it was too fast and jerky. It just took some getting used to. If you're not paying attention and get in a hurry running it, it will be jerky.
