Hello guys.  I've been looking for a clearing/thinning saw for a while and just came across a used husqvarna 245rx.  I was wondering what you guys had for opinions on these saws and what a good price for a used one is?

Thanks

I have one....been a good saw seeing moderate use. Only problem I remember was a broken clutch spring.

Works best for clearing smaller trees/brush as it only takes a 8" blade.
Gave up on using the string head, to much power. In tall heavy grass the line breaks at the head, gets to be a pain tearing the head apart all the time to get the line back out.
Most of the time I keep a 3 point brush blade on it.

Have an older bigger 165r for the tough stuff.

I ended up buying it.  The saw is in very good shape.  I work with commercial pct crews and I've been watching their techniques and I've found it to be very efficient cutting spruce, fir, and pine when it's kept sharp.
