Pretty in pink???

I cut these fence posts the other day. Should I put something on them or just stick them in the ground?  Thanks

I'd just put them in the ground, but I don't know anything. Bet it smells awesome there. Love cedar. If it were me, I'd put the sawdust in pillowcases, and put them in my closets.

If you treat them, they will last 50 to 70 years.  If you do not treat them, they will last 50 to 70 years.
I am in the pink when sawing cedar.

When Cedar posts rot off, they rot off at ground level, and not in the ground or above.

Boy thats some steep hay.  Bet it doesnt puddle often!  

How fast can a round bale get goin down that slope?

Is a rejuvenated farm,so we have been brush Hogging everything. Fences are going up soon.Letting them roll is a neat way to feed.

Your post look like they are almost all heartwood with very little of the white sapwood. That should make them last a good long while. Is that your black sawmill cat in the background or just an optical illusion?
