timberjack 330 skidder hydraulic pump

One of the loggers i move wood for has a 330 with an allison and detroit. Hydraulic functions stopped working all at once. Apparently the teeth on the shaft going into the pump are chewed off. He's going to get the pump rebuilt but also needs to pull that shaft. He just called me wondering if i knew how to get it out without pulling the transmission. I don't know much about that setup but figured someone here was bound to know. Any info would be great. Thanks
