I was contacted by a real estate agent regarding a customer who wants to put some live edge siding to replace vinyl on an existing structure.  Is this type of siding normally tapered or just flat sawn?  Any help is appreciated.

Last batch I did I cut at 3/4, dried to about 5/8. Flatsawn.

I saw a three sided D log and then flat saw. this gives you control over the average width of the siding unless the customer wants to straight edge the taper out himself. If the logs had no taper then straight edge would not be necessary.

I flat saw it (no taper)  and have a live edge on both sides of it.  That way when putting it up I can decide which side I like better.
