I am trying to repair a Jonsered CS2171 Fire Department saw (roof cutting type) 07 vintage that acts like it's hitting the rev limiter at about 6000 rpm. Carb inspects and tests ok, but no adjustment affects this symptom. Just seems to skip ever other spark. Have read here about blue coils and black coils, this has a blue. Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

Most likely a defective coil - have had it happen to a brushcutter, most annoying!
