Storing logs for future project

So here in sask i get my logs from BC. This is a major under taking weeks of permits advertising computor goof ups.etc.
My question is how long and in what form should i store these logs.
1 . Get raw logs stack them under cover.( 36x72 shed closed walls open ends)  should they be sticker in layers?
2. Cut into cants as large as possible  and store them in the shed?
3. These are western hemlock logs. I am using them for log house ,cabin building. Timber framing.gazebo. etc

Why not saw them into what you want while they are fresh?  Might saw beams oversize so they could be resawed after they dry...in case they move some.  Banjo

The point is to let them dry up to a couple of years. I have one log doing a twist in the cabin right now and would like to avoid it if possable.
