How much time would you guys recommend as the greatest time between felling your logs, milling, cutting your joints and raising your frame? I am looking at building sobon's shed and would like to hear some opinions?

For my, that would depend on species. White pine will be very forgiving. It will shrink very little, and not too much out of shape, so layout won't be affected much. White pine is also still easy to work dry. Hardwoods I would try to work much sooner, as they will move, check and become harder to work as they dry. You can notice a difference in some hardwoods in as little as a couple of months. Ideally, timber should be worked as soon after sawing as possible. If you are going to store timbers, keep them out of direct sun, well stickered, with good airflow. I would say direct sun is the worst culprit for causing checking and twisting.
