I started a simple thread and before long we'll be investigated....😂😂😂
As soon as the smoke clears. 😂
Simple?  I can't figure out all the steps, except I'm pretty sure I'll try it again, but this time I'll make an adjustment using the advice I've been given here.  It seems I need a much bigger stack of wood and a LOT more alcohol.

YellowHammerisms:

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Be smarter than the sawdust

Don't listen to Ganny. He gave you the recipe for making Charcoal.  :D

Bourbon, big torches, stacks of wood...would could POSSIBLY go wrong? I'm in.  ;D 8)
It occurs to me that this pretty much fits the description of the Sycamore project.  Maybe Poston could give is a live demo next year?

No good deed...and I think it's more of a stock trailer than a bus. Someone filled up the bus with gasoline and it doesn't run anymore.   :D

Well, I had my test boards on the ground, my 14yr old son come meandering around, interested in the torch of course, and just could NOT keep his hoofs off the material. I keep bourbon in my mill shed, just for these occasions! :-\
I assumed PAW lured his son off with bourbon versus burning it.

A friend showed me an ash bowl that he burned. It looked similar to pictures here.
So I think it would work with hardwood.

One of my customers sent me this picture of hemlock that I sold him.
So I guess there may be a market for it in my area as well.
