Title: JD 790 For Sale set up for small firewood operation
Post by: gasman1075 on June 05, 2018, 02:57:11 PM
I have a JD 790 with 645 hours 419FEL manual transmission 4WD with power beyond. It has AG tires and the quick connect bucket so it takes 2 minutes to switch to pallet forks. I added a 3PT log lift with a thumb that runs off the power beyond. You can slide the forks under the log, lift and pinch and then buck at a comfortable height. It also comes with a 4FT finish mower and a 1/4 cord dump trailer tow behind that can be converted to hydraulic dump easily using the existing valving.

I am offering this for 2 days June 6-8 for $13500 before I trade it in.

** It is on its way to the dealer thanks **

Thanks Jack

Not as much as the back for sure it is hard to answer that question  but I will tell you I had the 3PT thumb built because it was so much cheaper and stronger than adding a thumb on the FEL. With the FEL and forks I could lift most 12-18' sticks but it was sloppy while I bucked them up.

** The deal I made with FF to advertise this tractor has expired ( June 6-8 ) thanks all ! **

As far as details go I had it made / made it myself because I was too cheap to put a grapple on my FEL and since my 3PT will lift much more than the FEL this seemed like a logical choice. It has been barely used due to injuries of my own making. Its a Green Machine thumb welded onto a Titan 3 point pallet fork. Essentially I had the thumb welded to the pallet forks. I plumbed a valve from my power beyond and could lower the forks, back under the log, pinch it and pull it out near the splitter and buck it up there. The only pictures I have are in my gallery but for the few months I used it I was very happy just to have the log up off the ground and be able to cut it up at a comfortable height. I
