Moose Antlers
« on: August 03, 2005, 01:30:45 AM »
If anyone has a big old moose rack that they are going to throw away I would like a pair to fasten to the gable end of my shack that faces the highway . I can stain them if they are faded I think .  I see on ebay the prices are crazy but these wont be going over a fireplace , just something to add flavor to my shack . Thanks and you can I.M. or reply here if you think you can help !  ;)

Thanks for looking , on ebay moose antlers sell fast and this fall I will get me a cheap pair but I thought I would see here first because I know there is alot of members that live in moose country . I only get about one moose a year traveling through my area because it has that brain disorder and lost its road map but if I see one this year I will jump on its back with my chainsaw and take his branches off , kind of like catch and release !  :D

I want to see the video of that. Should make for an interesting ride, especially after you saw off the handlebars.  Sort of like climbing a tree and sawing off the limb you're sitting on.  :D :D :o
I eat a high-fiber diet.  Lots of sawdust!

I sold a set on ebay a few years ago, got 'em out of a dumpster from a house makeover - someone in Minnesota paid 85.00 for them, plus 30.00 for ups - huge box.  8)

thanks moosehunter I gotta find me a big pretty rack so I may have to do ebay . Thats a good very reasonable price mike_van .   Now andy cook what does a matching 4x4 elk shed look like? Could you ever post a picture of it here and how much $ would you like for it? It does sound nice . It might sound crazy of what I want to do to the gable end of my shack but when I watch tv shows about alaska I always see antlers on shacks and I really like the look as it would go good with the big snowshoes I have screwed to the outside wall kind of criss crossing each other. I want my shack to look like it was just dropped in by helicopter from "yooper land" michigan ! Thanks for looking for me . I might just get myself a DanG christmas present this year !  moose antlers

UB,
I hear THE best way to get a set of large moose antlers is to call the Alaska State Outfitters and book a hunt. If you can't go, just pay the fees and send the airline tics to me and I will try to find the time to go. I would definatly give you the antlers ;D ;D ;D
