Found !!!Denim work shirts THANKS
« on: December 20, 2005, 11:18:19 AM »
I'm not sure if this is the right place or not, but since it is something I want....

I wear long sleve denim work shirts. They are heavy duty shirts with 2 pockets and have pocket flaps to keep the sawdust out. They are 100% cotton, made out of the same thing denim jeans are made out of and almost the same weight as good quality denim jeans.

I have found "designer" denim shirts (yuck), but most have no pocket flaps or only one pocket. I have found "fake" denim.... not 100% cotton. I even checked Carhartt, but theirs dont have the pocket flaps.

I cant seem to find the "real" denim work shirts that are 100% cotton, have 2 pockets with pocket flaps, and heavy duty.

Does anybody know where I can find them?

Been wearing Wrangler brand western.......read snaps, rather than buttons.........shirts as you describe for 35 years;  there's a VF Imageware factory outlet near me that sometimes has them, as does Wal-mart (usually).
Here's to us and those like us; DanG few of us left!

Getoverit, I have had my shirt custom made by some folks out here.  I sent one to Jeff a couple three years ago and I guess Tammy has gotten a hold of it more than Jeff.  These folks make them with the flap pockets that can be a pullover or button, or choice.  I know that they send a great number of porducts to Alaska, so no reason to not send some to Florida.

I just spoke with Elaine and she said if you would send her an e-mail with your name and address she would send you a catalog with prices and all.  I will send you a pm with her e-mail address.

I have her  make all of my work jeans out of heavy duty denim.  The really have lasted much longer than anything I have tried.  I have been useing them for at least the last 30 years.  Not the same pair. 8)

She use to make all of my hickery shorts, but the supplier of the material refuses to sell her any more material as she is not a large enough buyer.   That just burns the heck out of me, as they were the longest lasting logger hickery shirts I have purchased.

I checked Bailey's, and they have blue shirts with pocket flaps, but not denim (Unless chambray is denim?)

I've been to 4 Wal Mart's in the area, and none have them.

I did find what I want from Tractor Supply, but theirs start at size XL and go to 4X (That would swallow me)

I looked at the Dickies work shirts, but didnt find Denim.

I gave the supplier Frank Sent an e-mail, so maybe this one will pan out.

Thanks for the responses!!

Ken
