Mr Mom

My neighbor gave me some syrup he made and there is like crystals on the side of the glass jar.
I dont know how he made it or anthing like that.
Is it ok to use?? how do i change the crystals bach or cant i do that??
The jar is a glass canning jar.

The syrup was cooked too long.  Send it too me.  There is nothing wrong with what is left, it is just a little too thick.   The excess sugar precipitated out.  If you can get the crystals out they are just like rock candy, very yummy.

Hey SD, I'm back, went turkey hunting(no bird this year :() but still had a great time.
Mr. Mom, just remove the lid on the jar and put in microwave for about 10- 20 seconds, it should turn back to liquid. You can also put it in a pan of hot water.

There ya are. ;D  That's lip smacking, great syrup Pat.

On the subject of turkeys, there have been a few sited here that were released from local hunting clubs. I suppose they would do ok if we continue with the mild winters we've been getting. I know I've seen some pictures of these escaped turkeys a few days ago. The silviculture manager at the marketing board has a son who took some digitals. I think they were from around Woodstock. I was talking to a landowner this week who has seen some above Hartland along the river. I think they were down in his yard.

Looks like a bit less then a half gallon.
We were using it for ice cream topping and such and forgot about it when winter rolled around.
Haven't tried any yet, but it looks just like the day I made it. ;)

Might be turned into dish detergent by now. :D :D
