Small Opertors Unite for truckloads
« on: October 13, 2006, 05:15:52 PM »
Ladies and gents,
A thread popped up which gave me an idea that would help bring small mill operators and buyers together, so we can get top quality products to market and get fair pricing for our wares.
So, I ask whom would be interested in collaborating with other small operators to put together truckloads of lumber, which would then be sold directly to companies that sell hardwoods retail?
I am looking for interest, to see if this idea is viable, and so we can see if we can make it fly.
I recognize there are many aspects that must be considered, such as grading, drying, and so forth, but let's start small nad work up to the full blown program.
The concept is something like a concentration yard, but eliminates the middleman, by taking products direct to the retail sellers.
Thanks in advance for your consideration!

I wake up in the morning, and hear the trees calling for me...come make us into lumber!
