Jim,

I broke my old draw knife in half that I use on my cedar logs in my projects I need to get a new one. What do you recommend, do you have one and how much?

I'm posting this here so that others can see how the process works when you want to buy a tool.

Jeff:
There are three in the tool box for sale.
There is one with folding handles, and two with regular handles. One of the regulars is 9" long the other is 10" long, that is the blade lengths.
I'll send you some pictures by regular email so you can see them.
The one with the folding handles is 8" long (again blade length), and is $47, the 9" one has a curved blade and is $38, and the 10" one has a straight blade and is $42.
As said on the for sale page, these prices do not include shipping.
In order to do a shipping costs, I'll need the following: first a business address. The UPS store that I use says it costs less to ship to a business. Now if it's a home based business it's still considered a residence and therefore doesn't qualify, but how does the counter person know that this is a residence is still unknown to me. But you'll need to provide a contact person's name, business name, business address, city/town, zip code, and phone number (that's for the UPS driver in case he can't find your address, at least that's what they tell me). Once I have all this info and put the tool in a box then I can take it to the UPS store and get the shipping weight and the cost. To figure the shipping costs that what they need the weight and the address. Once the shipping cost are done I can tell you the total. Most of the shipping I've done to the mid west has been about or less then $10.
You can pay by check/money order/or paypal but we'll have to wait till the check gets here and clears before the package will go out.
Let me know what you want to do, after you look at the three photos that I'm sending you.

Jim,
I'd like to see that 10 foot draw knife :D :D :D  If you have a 10' draw knife it must have been Paul Bunyan's :D

In all seriousness, I may be in the market for a boring machine.  I am not a collector so name brand is not important, just need a functional tool with 1 1/2" and 2" bit.

Is there a pick of the litter, you could recommend?

Max:
10" (no name) (Straight with folding handles)-$40-G

If I understand symbols correctly the ( " ) symbol means inches and the ( ' ) symbol means feet.

Do you need your glasses or eyes checked?  ;D

Pick out a machine they all bore holes......

You can go down the street in a Chevy or a Ford, just as good as a Cadillac...

It's your choice depending on what you want to spend.....

Jim,
The 10' thing was humor, I quoted someone from a previous post that asked you for pictures of a 10' drawknife. :o  (There was no error in your description.)

Are you selling the boring machines with bits or are the bits all sold separately?  If I email you my address can you send me higher resolution pictures of the Snell-adjustable N and F2

Max:
The list was current as of that date.
No bit that size on the list, so the answer is no.
But we can look for one for you, and when we get it not list it and sell it directly to you.
What you'll need is a bit with the lead screw tip threads very fine.
Coarse threads are for softwoods.

Jim,
Yes keep you eyes open for a 1.5 inch bit for me.  If I can not find a 1.5 in the next day or two I most likely will buy the 1.25 (6S)  you have.  Please tell me shipping to 54531, so I can prepare a check.

Of course I would rather find a 1.5 inch bit.

Thanks Max
