Wanted....Oak Staves
« on: February 17, 2010, 12:59:19 PM »
I'm looking for used oak barrel staves for a home project. I've found some on the west coast but the shipping is more than the staves. Didn't know if anyone had any in the east.
Thanks,
Jon

Maybe you could call the Jack Daniels distillery at Lynchburg, Tenn. They may have staves that wouldn't work, or that they aren't going to use.
Too much work-not enough pay.

I need about 100 used or new oak staves. I'm building a treehouse for my kids and want to use the staves for the spindles on the railing.

Thanks for :-\ the replies on the staves, but I thought that someone on the forum would have the(no brainer solution to my problem). I emailed the Georgia Wine Ass. for some input, but no one replied to my email. Thanks to woodmills1 for his suggestion. If anyone might know where I might find any oak staves, please don't hold back.
Thanks,
Jon smiley_lit_bulb
