Has anyone seen a trailer brake controller that is weatherproof? I'd like to be able to control the electric brakes on my forwarding trailer from my open-station tractor. I've occasionally been pushed around by the trailer when coming down hill and trying to keep the speed slow and steady. Keeping my studded "Euro-style" chains on the tractor year round certainly helps, but being able to get a little assistance from the trailer brakes would be handy.Read More

Hi everyone. I just picked up a 1980 TJ 240E. I got a great price on it and it came with a few problems that I want to fix the right way. Im having a hard time locaring service manuals for the machine.
It has a gearmatic 119 winch and i was able to download the manual.
i cant find the specific owner or service manual for the 240E. it has a 4-53 detroit which i have a manual for. not sure whT type of transfer case it has or transmission other than its A 4 speed and has hi/low range with a reverser.Read More

From time to time on google, I come across mentions of 'my father ran a Belsaw on a 50hp electric motor' or 'we used to run one on a pair of 30hp electric motors'. Just little bits that never get into much detail.

I'm interested to learn more about the (seemingly few) folks who have done this. What was the setup? How well did it cut? What was the power source? How was the motor controlled? How did the HP compare to PTO-driven? V-Belts or another solution?Read More
