I have a Norwood mill with a B&S vanguard 23. The oil filter sits almost on the deck. I was able to barely get a oil filter wrench on it. Will not budge. Afraid I was going to tear the fitting off the side of the motor, filter itself starting to collapse in. I think if I tried the screwdriver through the filter trick it might just tear through the filter. Hard to get purchase on the thing also. Any thoughts? Read More

I've had some failures while attempting to clamp and hold odd shaped (crescent, quarter-round) wood , in off-from-square positions on a LT40 so as to make the cuts to produce quarter-sawn lumber .

- the position/orientation of the wood held for quarter-sawing , Read More

Does anyone here have or use a Davis saw filer? This pic is out of the R.R. Howell catalog.

I'm cutting logs and need to mark the ends of them. I don't want to guess or purchase the wrong type of marker for this.

What do the professionals use to mark the cut ends with? Is there a specific brand or type of marker everyone generally uses?

I just need to write down about 5 digits. Need something that isn't going to fade in the sun or be washed away by rain, and that writes on a chainsaw cut end.Read More

Boardwalk EZ40 Bandwheel V-belt replacement has turn into a problem. Put urethane v-belts on it and got them on fine, ran a few hours and had a problem where blade took a dive and melted the urethane.

OK, figured I did something wrong so called Stanton and he said B56 belts for that machine. Got Gates B56 on it just now, replaced blade. Belts are too loose on the wheel and I can almost take them off with my fingers when the blade is installed.Read More
