44 Foot Cedar Log
« on: May 09, 2018, 09:15:45 PM »
A guy calls and says he has 1 Cedar Log he wants sawed.
I asked him what the diameter was.
He said he didn't have a tape measure but the small end was about 3 inches.

OK.....I took it hook, line and sinker.  :D :D :D
I said bring it on.....how does 50 bucks sound....he said sounds great, on my way.

Next time I'll ask the length too.  ::)

Will saw it to 8 foot lengths in the morning and make lumber in the afternoon.

Leave it full length, saw it, and then watch his mouth drop when you bill him for 14bf of lumber.  ;D

You could set the record for the longest log ever quarter sawn.  The yield would be a little low, maybe down to 1 bdft total.

This was on the news the other day and it concerns one of the two "G" words mentioned often on the FF.  Maybe it's old news
