I need help with why after I rebuilt the carb it now only starts when I'm holding the trigger and won't stay running thanks

try adjusting the L and LA screw. first put them to the original position. On stihl's its normally L and H open one turn. look at you manual

Yes. Turn the LA screw in clockwise until the saw will stay running, hopefully. Then adjust the L screw for max RPM. Then turn the L screw CCW another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Then adjust the LA CCW until the chain quits turning. That's usually pretty close.

If adjusting doesn't help check the needle valve for dirt or the metering lever a little to high letting too much fuel in. Steve
