Kd250 kiln schedual
« on: June 07, 2018, 11:55:26 PM »
Hi all,

I have been running a Kd250 for 2 or so years now. I find that the kiln shedual provided in the manual doesn't really force the compressor on very often. Like for example I'm running wood type 4 at 50% moisture. Manual says 95/89 temps. When I do that the wet bulb will stay 90.5 or so and won't turn on the compressor as it needs to be 2 degrees higher.  I usually set the wet bulb 1 degree lower than what the manual says and it works great. Anyone have the same issue?

I dry mixed hardwoods at 2 and 1/4 thick.

Take the wick off the WB and dry it off.  This makes it a DB, and it should read the same as you regular DB.

In order for a WB to work well, it needs pretty good air flow in order to evaporate the water and cool it.  The wick also needs to be very wet.

Our kiln schedules are conservative because it makes it easy for new users to get a good result. Also because our schedules are for all of North America and wood can dry a little differently from region to region. :)
