Viable acorns needed
« on: September 21, 2018, 02:44:48 PM »
I have been growing various species of Oak trees in my field for the past 4 years.  All of the trees I have grown have been grown from acorns.  It is sort of a hobby of mine.
I am in need of a few different species that I am unable to locate in my area:
Black Oak (quercus velutina)
Post Oak (quercus stellata)
Overcup Oak (quercus lyrata)
Cherrybark Oak (quercus pagoda)
If anybody out there is willing to part with any of these species, it would be greatly appreciated.

75 Acres of hardwoods that i want to try to optimize for HW growth, health and habitat. Also interested in creating a few small stands of fruit/nut trees and sample of different native species

Probably should update your profile so people know where you are.  But from the species you listed, I'm guessing south east?

I just have Valley, Scrub and rarely, White.
Here is a typical "straight" one... ;)

That's a good hobby to have.

Hate to be "that guy" but will there be any issues with mailing them across state lines? I know the Fed didn't like my idea of having birch seeds sent in from Finland without me getting approval.

Now is the time.  Squirrels are working the overcup now and the rest are starting to fall.  How many would you need?
