As i read through this thread a few things went through my mind.

Should we better define:
Neighbourly agreements vs legal partnerships vs corporations?

I'm not at all afraid of neighbourly agreements as those have never "shared" property. The neighbours property is agreed to work together with mine (his cows graze my grass) but never shared on a document or otherwise (i don't get any calves for the grass). the moment you enter a partnership you enter muddy ground. to my experience this is where misunderstandings are most frequent due to things becoming legal whether through documentation or through shared property but don't have clarification of agreement. and misunderstandings ruin friendships, neighbourly feelings, and more. corporations are another ball game altogether and i have limited experience there but it seems to be quite workable because of ownership structure and all property being the corporations.

MISUNDERSTANDINGS are the worst culprit ever. And to avoid those I like to have things written down. Not because I want to legalize things but because I don't want misunderstandings. If we write it down and you don't understand we'll clarify. Or if we write it down and it seems to bulky and unworkable, we don't follow through with any agreement. It just seems to help avoid troubles and make things work smoother. Just my $.02 from my limited experience.

I agree with the "Ruin Forest Run" comment.  Not only no but heck no.
