Help identify tree
« on: December 03, 2018, 04:35:06 PM »
Can anyone please help identify this tree?I think it may be some type of ash but not sure. The tree was approximately 60' tall and about 15" diameter at the base. Definitely taking it home for the sawmill. Located in southern alabama. See photos attached.. thanks!

Absolutely mockernut hickory.  Leaves are alternate.  Leaves have 7 leaflets.  Rachis looks wooly.  Definitely not ash as ash has opposite leaf arrangement.
