Looking for onsite sawmill service in Northwest Wisconsin
« on: February 13, 2019, 11:42:38 AM »
I am looking for onsite sawmill service to mill my green logs into 4"x10" by 20 ft lengths, onsite at my property in northern Wisconsin.

Anyone know of anyone up here who does that?

Dgrover,

Check up here under the extras tab on the FF and see if you find a sawyer listed in your area who can help you out. If there is nobody listed in your area try opening the WoodMizer site and look under their services tab for their Pro-Sawyers in your area. I have asked but never found where any of the other mill manufacturers offer such a service. Good luck.

Dgrover13,

Hello! I'm up in Bayfield county between Ashland and washburn.  I have a lt 35 (manual), that i really don't like to move.  Are you in Cumberland?  I grew up in Rice Clake and Eau Claire, and I get down that way a decent bit.  I think if you search the local CL, I feel like there are sawyers that list their services there.  20' is just about capacity for a WM with no bed extension.  I've cut 20' tamarack and it takes some wiggling.  Do you have a tractor, skid steer, etc. ? That'd help to jockey logs.   Hanson's Holstein's and Hardwoods is south of Barron, and they might know of someone local who's maybe not on the internet or have some other good ideas.  Good luck.

sincerely,
Josh
