clww, what is winter? Here in north Florida we only had two really light frosts this winter.
Not good especially for the blueberry farmers that need that cold period.
I think we only used about 1 cord of wood to heat with all winter.
I really feel for you guys up north, too much cold and snow, now flooding.
But do have the log splitter fixed now so I can get ready for next winter.

Cold is not a problem to us,nor is snow. I have never been snowed in and not able to get to the store. I have never had to stock up on food either. Only once have I been without power for more than a week, that was an ice storm. Yes the news will make it big. Maine is getting a foot of snow. ::)  Life goes on here, that's what's the snow plows are for. ;D I don't lose many trees due to the weather.

Glad to hear the pump got you running. Here in eastern Nebraska its been a long winter lots of snow and cold. We are lucky the flooding has been all around us mostly east of us. Our creeks were bank full a couple days ago but we got lucky and the rain stopped before the flooding started in my area.

Most likely the shift valve in the pump is defective .If I'm not mistaken it's a spring loaded poppet valve . Don't throw it away because  if it can't be fixed it will still work just won't shift to low volume .Use it on something else

Al_Smith, yes you are right. Don't throw anything away that could be used for some other project. How many times have I thrown something away and a few days later needed just that part I just threw away.
