Looking for work Please Help
« on: February 20, 2005, 11:10:33 AM »
Hi all

I know its been a while.  we have had some trouble in the last few months.  I had to shut down the mill right after the pig roast that is why we never made it.  I have been out of work since then.  I have sold off the mill and most of my other equiptment to keep my head above water while looking for a job.  the area I live in is not in real good shape right now. We are looking at relocateing almost anywhere.  I have lots of experance as a Sawyer both circle and band,  Logger,  and equiptment opperator.  I also have 11 years as an IronWorker / Welder / Fabracator.  If anyone has any good sugestions they would be a lot of help.

Thanks

Woody

Jeff has been advertising for a sawyer to work in the mill where he has been head sawyer for all these years.    Get in touch with him through the forum Im or even a post to see if it is something y'all can work out.

If you click this link http://www.wvforestry.com/indassistance.cfm?menucall=industry and go down were it say ''green lumber'',it has a list of all the sawmills and there phone numbers in the state.I'm sure some of them need some workers. They all need loggers, welders, etc etc.

Woody.
What about all of those powered metal plants in St.Marys?
They all seem busy right now and could use a man with many talents.
I dont know the starting wages or anything but it may be worth a shot.
The comute wouldnt be to bad for you either.
Just a thought.
Mike.

Woody,
Over on "the other wood site" there is a posting under job opportunities for a grade head sawyer in western PA.
It was posted on 2/17/05 so it may be worth checking out.
The other site is www.woodweb.com.
Hope this helps.
Mike.

Hi all

Well many thanks to everyone here.  when it started looking bad at home towards finding a job my wife told me I should post something on that forestry forum that I used to always be on. so I gave it a try.  I always knew you were a great bunch of people but this last week you showed me that you are much more. Thanks agian for all the kind words prayers and job offers.

I went to meet Fireman ED  thursday and friday.  Let me tell you they don't come any nicer than Ed.  I will be starting in 2 weeks as a full time sawyer on his LT 300 8) 8).  Me and the family are packing now to make the 375 mile move to Va.

Thanks agian to the best bunch of people that I know

  Well, that's great news  8) 8) 8)

best wishes in the new job and post pics. ;D ;) :D

Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
