Pricing your wood
« on: June 10, 2019, 07:06:52 PM »
I have been selling Kiln dried wood for about three years now since I put in my kiln.  One of the most common questions I see both on here and through my You Tube channel is how sawmills when starting up should price their wood. I decided to write a short blog on this topic which I think would be helpful to those starting out in this business. This is by no means the only  way or the best way but has it worked for me when starting out which has seen my sawmill go from a small hobby to a full time business.

Nathan,

I like it. Very practical and down to earth. I see people all the time saying my or someone else's prices are too high or too low compared to what they charge in Michigan, Kansas or California. Cost of living, type wood, salaries, etc are all widely different in each in each of those areas. Your approach should be feasible and should work well in all locations. Very good reading.
