LL1000 Log Lifter in RED!
« on: July 05, 2019, 08:45:14 AM »
We recently custom-coloured an LL1000 since it was going on a red tractor. I was pretty impressed with the turn-out.

What is the weight of that log lifter, and what weight is it rated to handle?

It weighs about 365 lbs and is rated to over 3300lbs
The key components are made of grade 650 steel which it light and strong!

Looks like a nicely made unit. I do have a question, however. On the  on the Farma website scrolling down to the text below the presentation tab says "In normal use it can lift 600 kg" (1320 lbs). Under the technical data tab, it says "Max load capacity (Kg) 1500" (3300 lbs). The brochure says both: "normal use 600 kg" and "Max load 1500 kg"

1320 lbs is pushing the limit of what I can pick up with my compact tractor (and even that I can only get a few feet off the ground), but I'm curious: should someone with a larger tractor limit themselves to picking up 1320 lbs, or can they safely handle larger loads? For example, my neighbor is considering buying a forestry grapple for his tractor. He regularly moves 2500# pallets and lifts them 4 feet or so to load in a truck with no problem. Can he reliably handle 2500# logs with the LL 1000?
