Can you use calking glue to glue logs together?
« on: February 27, 2005, 08:06:19 PM »
I was thinking of building a log home out of some 8''X8'' Hemlocks and puting a 2''X 6'' in between them

I was thinking that would work better then nailing them because the glue wouldn't hold the logs apart like the nailes would.

It seems like it would work.I've used the contrustion glue before and it seems like it holds better then nails do.

I'm not a log builder.
But, I think there are some drying, shrinkage and settling issues that will have to be addressed for your system to work.
