Tom just called and told me he had the resaw ready to load but the driver refused because it wasn't crated. The saw is free standing and I had already contacted Up Country Mfg and asked how they ship them. They told me they are free standing and they ship them all over North America, free standing!

I don't understand the need for crating unless they plan on stacking something on top of it.The frame of the saw has built in slots for a forklift.

I'm spittin nails.

Day and Ross terminals in Wisconsin

There are phone numbers listed, its possible they may come on site.

When I shipped some stuff to Prince Rupert, they came right to the door at my father's potato packing shed, backed up to the ramp, got loaded, then off they went. :)
Move'n on.

SD,
thanks for the link.I see that they have a terminal right in Stevens Point which is only 15 minutes from Tom's place.
I called Chris at Freightquote and he contacted the trucking company and they apparently have it sorted out. They want the sides enclosed to protect the saw and there own arses in case there is any damage.
Chris also contacted Tom and he has agreed to grab some boards and plywood and enclose it for them and they rescheduled the pick up for tomorrow.

Chris is both fast and efficient!

Furby,
is your truck running yet?  ;)

Not yet Paul, planning to work on it on Wed. if I'm feeling better.
Just saw video of Death Valley on tv. They said there is about two weeks left of blooms, my friend called and is trying to get me to go.
I didn't know that gas prices were close to $3 out west.  :o
What are they like in your neck of the woods and the rest of the NW ???

J_T ,
you're right of course but I'm a slow learner  This was a new experience for me that's why I like that it is dragging out over a couple of months cause I want to savour it.  ;)

Furby

Gasoline is around $2.68 USD per gallon here on average.Sometimes more sometimes less.I tried to call you this afternoon when I saw you on line but got a busy signal.

Paul,
Maybe you better rethink dat shipping container idea you had for getting to da Piggy Roast. Either that or ship your selves out next week so you all get here in time.   ;D
