Cedar fence posts in western WA
« on: November 17, 2007, 02:46:24 PM »
We're looking for @ 25 cedar posts, either round or square, 6' long.  We're in western Skagit County, WA and would be willing to pick them up within a reasonable distance - maybe 50 miles or so.  Let me know if anyone has any they'd like to sell.

Since you are in WA, I assume you want Western Red Cedar?

Sure enough, Furby.  I'm thinking they'd be even more expensive if they'd travelled from ERC territory!

Well, for what we'll pay if we buy them at the big cedar store, we probably could get you out here  ::)  Last I heard, though, the FAA (not to mention the TSA) aren't to friendly to chainsaws  ;D

I wish more members would take advantage of the "Find-a-forester-Sawmill" at the top right corner of the page.  I looked but could only guess at the proximity you share with two of them.  One is in BC and the other  in Wash.  Perhaps you could look and get a better idea, being familiar with the country.

Don't try to answer any questions, just go to the bottom of the page and click on search.  The number of sawmills and Foresters is few enough that determination shouldn't be difficult.   What a benefit it is and what an opportunity members throw away to not represent themselves on that free list.  :)

I'd rather drive then fly, so no problem there. :)

Now, back to your question...... Tom has an answer I actually forgot about. ::)

Ryn if you had a couple of zeros behind that quantity I could get some ERC there cheaper than you could buy the WRC locally. But that one word two letter word "if" is always a big one. Even one zero might do it if Furby wants to take a slow ride around the country! :D

He'd probably want to be paid though and that would kill the deal. ::) :)

The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

Thanks Tom, I'll give that a try.  Guess I'm usually just focused on the threads - I never noticed that

Yeah, I know it's a pretty small amount...  Good thing that's all we need, though, given the local market  :o

Love your avatar, by the way.  If we ever get this fence built we're going to get one for ourselves  8)  8)

What I was really wishing was that more members would put there businesses on there.  It's a great opportunity for advertising, and it's free.

Yep, I see what you mean.  I'll bet it is one of those things that got misplaced in the crash.  Jeff will probably have to spend some time with it before those features return.  I guess we'll have to remind him of it when he gets back from the "Near North".  :D

Mine does not show up anymore. I listed it a couple days ago and I thought it showed up.
Maybe I was looking at something else becasue I thought there were about 7 or 8 listed in Texas now just 2.
