Jeff,

You're pretty DanG close on the jack except the only carriages around here only traveled back and forth in front of a saw husk. :D

You ain't gettn' many takers on yer guessin' game, so I figger I'll just offer up a jinnyouwine WAG on #1.  Since that's a dairy farm and all, I figger that little auger lookin' thingy, settin' on the little ladder must be some sort of artyfishul insiminatin device. Maybe.  ::)

Bro. Noble

Chet,

That's a 'Bung Hole Borer' for sure 8)

DanG, you're not going to win many cow friends with guesses like that :o ;D

Growing up on a farm I can tell you that dairy calves are notorious for certain problems that only your "bung hole borer" can cure. Seems a little harsh tho. ;D

Course I won't mention about how the other thing is used for stump broke cows, that would be in bad taste.

Mom always warned me about visiting our cousins in Missouri.

Thanks for the pics Bibbyman.

Getting old and stupid I guess.  Just this morning I seen that I neglected to link in the pictures I took at RMay's place on the index page above.  I'll fix that later.  But for now,  here are the pictures I took there.

Dugsaws

I will take a wild guess on the first pic and say it is a soil test drill, just a guess so dont laugh, I am not old enough to remember any thing like that
Doug

Bibbyman

Dugsaw,  no need to guess. Noble done said it was a bung hole drill.  A drill for making the bung holes in barrels.

I guess I could have taken a picture of the side that better shows the tapered part as a reamer.

It looks like a sharpening stone! To the left of it (in your website pictures) is a farmall H Is it used to belt drive the sharpener?

It would probably pull it.  Do you think my shed looks a little like Corley's shed? :)

Hint:  There is/was a major league pitcher named Don Gullett.   :)   I can't  participate.  Noble told me what that
gadget was when I was there.  ;D
Noble, I don't know if your shed looks like Corley's but
there is a Corley in your shed.   :D
