Clear and breezy out there this morning and 16

I'll go out a little later and clean up the snowdrifts!

Looks like about 6" of new stuff in the back yard!

Partly sunny and high 30s today. Supposed to be a couple chances for snow showers the next few days. Then a chance for another mixed storm for the middle of next week
I believe in the hereafter, because every time I take two steps into the tool crib to get something I wonder " what did I come in here after"

Saw on the national radar that CA is getting a good soak, hope @tule peak timber and the other desert sawing denizens are going to have a good shower this week/weekend.  Seems to me that N CA has had a good wet season so far.

As for  VA, chilly then warm enough to create mud.  Wet to boot.  What a bother.

Seems to me that N CA has had a good wet season so far.

They are saying our snow pack is 120+ % of normal (for this time of year).  This time last year was around 26% of normal.  The "Atmospheric River" (formally known as a Pineapple Express) has set up that we started getting a warm storm Wednesday and today dumping rain all the way up to 8,000'.  No necessarily a bad thing, the rain soaks into the snow making a big ice cube.  The snow level is suppose to lower through the day today down to 4,000'.  Just had a big squall go through dumping like a fire hose with really strong winds but no hail.

Glad to hear you've got good moisture.  Even the parched Southern CA region got a good soaking this year it seems.

No rain UP here just more snow right now. Calling for 3-6" by morning. At the rate we are going it wouldn't surprise me if we hit 300 inches of snow this winter by the time May rolls around.

It's 36 and calm out there this morning!

However, we're slated to receive RAIN this afternoon!

We have only received a total snowfall this season of 79 inches.

That's not much for us, and time is running out!  :snowball:

Hey Chuck,it still might come.
One year we got most of our snow in March. Just about every 6-7 days, snow. Some storms was a foot each time!!
I only have 10 here now. But that warm air is coming,40. Suppose to start out as snow, than rain.

Well the 3-6" predicted turned into about 12", now the wind is picking up and causing lots of blowing and drifting.

Mild here this morning, a touch of light rain that froze and caused some black ice for an hour, enough to fool a few folks and a school bus. No major injuries. Gonna warm up above freezing shortly. Nice little respite. I ordered a new quadrant lock for my plow, hope it arrives before the next snow does.
Don't worry Chuck, it's coming. The last time I heard somebody say something like what you just said was back in mid-July when some dude said "Y'know, we could probably use a little rain'. You know what happened after that. I am still looking for that dude. ;D ;D
Should be clear and cool here through the weekend.

Going to revise my 12" and call it closer to 18 or 20". Now the wind has drifts pushed up 10 and 12 feet along the lake. Went to plow my lake rental house and had to wait for the county end loader to finish digging the road out. Haven't seen this much snow in this amount of time in many years.
