Did you decide upon a method to modify the winch from two legs to a solid blade? If so, I would be very interested to see.  thank you.

One way to do this is to make a blade like this, easy to remove if greater ground clearance is needed.

I would make a hinged butt plate.probably not the best picture.





I can make it rigid by putting 2 pins into it.When winching in,it does not trip the other way.It only trips in one direction.this way if it hits something it just flips back and goes back into place when the object is cleared.I have it winched out of the way for the trailer tongue here.It just about clears the tongue,but I don't want to take a chance.
