Since I just picked up a 361, I am thinking about selling my 270c and a friend is interested.  What is a fair price to ask?  I've searched around online but haven't found a price list or anything.  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't know what shape it is in but new here in the north it costs about $600.  I know they are cheaper "down south".  I paid $400 for my 270 that had cut about 10 cords of wood.

$429 here new with 16" . If in like new condition and If he is a good friend I would think $200 would be fair, if not closer to $250.

The saw is in good shape and runs well.  Also, this is a good friend.  Thanks for the opinions, guys.  I had no idea what would be fair.

Looking on ebay they had a few ranging from $250-350.  The one for $350 was in pretty good shape, and was a buy it now price.

Around $250  .  I'd buy a Dolmar 5100 for around $400 rather than pay $300 for a used 270 .        Steve

So would I - but it looks like the 5100S is history, replaced by the 5105, that has a cat muffler in the US.... ::)

Too bad. Is anyone selling a non-cat aftermarket muffler that will fit, or are those disappearing as well?

I've heard gutting a cat muffler can be a problem if you don't know what you are doing, since there are some nasty metals inside that you don't want to mess with.
