Just want to mention that you should not use PT for interior use (in a home).  White pine is fine for timberframing as are most hardwoods.  If you're afraid of bugs, you can apply a borate to the wood.  Not harmful to humans or pets, only bugs. No worries.  Like any sawn timbers, the white pine must be visually graded.  Best description of visual grading I've seen is in "A timberframer's workshop" by Steve Chappell.
Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!
