Kohler 30 Hp Engine
« on: January 10, 2012, 09:10:46 PM »
I purchased a Kohler  CH750-0003 with about 100 hours to stand in while I rebuilt my Onan.  It had been setting up for quite a while and needed an ignition module.  I ran it for 50 - 65 hours and it ran like a champ.  Just before I pulled it off I replaced a head gasket.  The Onan is running like a champ now and I don't really need a back up so I'm selling.  It has the HD air filter and the muffler which points right (from flywheel side).  I also will include the 2" blocks needed to retro fit to a WM LTHD40 (mine is a '95) and the three grove pulley.  It should bolt right onto the same series Woodmizer.  I am located in South Alabama and really would prefer you to pick up.  I was satisfied with the Kohler but like the idea of staying stock with the Onan.  Price is $1100.  My number is 334 222 1528.  Please call before 8:30pm central time.  Thanks

Bodger,

Can you take a tape measure and measure the height of that motor from the base to the top of it's highest point for me? I have an edger that it might work well on. I've got a 3 phase motor on it now and wouldn't mind swapping out.

It measures 28 3/4" from the base to the top of the air filter.  Overall width is under 18".  Height to center of shaft 6 1/4".  The pulley is 3 1/2" diameter.

Thanks Bodger. I have to see if I have the clearance for that. Seems too tall but I'll check.

I just measured my clearance. I have 22" and that's within a half inch of the infeed belt on the edger. So at a minimum the motor is 6 and 3/4 " too tall. Thanks anyway.

If I'm not mistaken, the cannister air filter on his engine is "remote" meaning it can be moved to a desirable area. It just needs a hose connection to it.

I will take a look in the morning to see the feasibility of moving the air filter.  Thanks for the input. Thanks dukndog.

If the air filter canister is removed the clearance would be just over 19".
