Today I cut some nice spruce boards from Four nice Norwegian Spruce logs.  I logged the tree last winter and just got to cutting the logs up today.  The boards came out great but one of the logs had several over wintering Sawyer Beetle tunnels in each board.  I made 2 bys with that log so for the most part the larva know that their new homes are no longer as safe as they once were.

My question is will my lumber be ok after it dries?  Should I spray these boards with some Tim-Bor?  The boards are 2 x 10  and each board seems to have 2 to 4 holes in it.

Thanks Rob

My understanding is that as the boards begin to dry, the beetle larvae cannot survive.  You should be OK.
