Found a great saw but when I try to start it about every third pull seems to just jerk out and makes a weird sound. Sorry in advance but not a saw guru. Thanks.

Maybe like the dogs don't catch and grab when pulling the rope?

Might be a broken spring and need to pull off the starter assembly and take a look.

Sounds like the starter pawls are worn and/or the starter cup.

replace the spring in the recoil assembly. it sounds like its worn out
