Time to upgrade your 6400 to a 7900 and then you have a great duo!

The 6100 is a great saw and it is very ease on fuel.

They are great on fuel.

I'm sure you're discovering how nice it is to have that much power in a light weight saw!

The 6100 actually is among the heavier of the true 60cc saws - but of course lighter thatn the 6400 (or 7900).

NO it does not. It has a primer pump for cold starts and the easy start is a spring assisted starter.

I think he was referring to a decomp.

lynde37avery

yea decompression button. it starts ok tho? doesnt pull over like a 268 i hope, which doesnt have the comp button.
and 550 sounds real reasonable.

I don't know if it had one or not, but there should be no problem pulling over a 60 cc saw without a decomp. I don't use mine on my 361, 59 cc with good compression.

As I read the (German) website, there is no decomp valve - but rather a spring assisted starter.

Combined with a "strato" design which primary objective seem to be avoiding any patent infringements - just another reason to not want the saw.....

Well that sure is funny because very very many want this saw just because of these reasons.

Well, i know we are talking Dolmars and I have had a 5100s and a 7900. the 7900 rocked but the coils do not have a lifetime guarantee like the johnnys do. went through a few of them and was disappointed. any body have any time on a 2260 Jonsered. Just wondering.

The Dolmar's have no coil issues I know of. This thread is about the 6100, if you want info on a different saw, please start a new thread.
