I've got a bad habit of opening up the face of a log only to see some pithy, spongy, pitiful looking wood and keeping on sawing.  (Why haven't I learned it's a waste of gas????)  I just keeping hoping to find gold at the end of the rainbow but it hasn't happened. ;D

Looks like a normal log around here, white oak doesn't saw too bad but those dried out ones will dull the blade faster.  Steve

This walnut limb log was coyote ugly.....

Kind of crotchetry.  Should be able to make some nice benches from the slabs.  At least, that is the goal.

This one was even worse, but a little good wood in there in spots.

BTW, the pear is in full bloom, the grass is greening up, and we are in Full Spring Mode here.

I get 30 cents/ ft for those kind, delivered to sawmill.  There's nothing wrong with it if the other end is solid.   ???

At least we are all seeing white.

I took this picture of my neighbor's driveway yesterday.  It is lined with Bradford Pear trees.
