2nd and last load is in the Solar Kiln
« on: September 27, 2014, 09:16:48 PM »
Odd summer, really did not saw as much as I planned to this summer.   My first load was out of the kiln 2 months ago.   Just loaded 400-500 bf last week(9-18).  I had figured it was going to take a lot longer since it has cooled down but we have had a really nice sunny 6 days in a row now.  Today was the hottest and my first day back doing anything after having the Flu for 6 days.

it got up there today
Front reading out of sun - this is the heat coming off the roof and going into the stack

This is the back reading as the air flows out of the stack.

The front reading read as high as 137 today around 4:30 and the back reading managed to get up to 122.

I hope to check the lumber sometime in the next few days for a reading.   The load is mainly White pine with some red pine too.
