Snow isn't deep until your plowing with the base of the crane... lol . The Ponsse Ergo I ran had a tool box in front of the crane (perfect for bar oil and heavy recovery chain) but most of the winter the deep snow would just push the lid open and fill itself with snow turning everything into a block of ice.

We havenít had much for snow up til a couple weeks ago. Still not much in the woods compared to normal. Supposed to get a good 1 tonight. Starting to get tricky with the forwarder in the woods with no chains. Lots of ice under the snow. Got ďstuckĒ twice in 2 inches of snow climbing a hill Sunday. Empty the 1st time loaded the 2nd.

As long as you don't have to get out of the cab the deep snow never bothered me too much. When you grab a tree and feed the head down and all you see is the rotator above the snow you know your in trouble. Have to chip the ice and snow out of the saw box and knives cylinders a few times during the day.

Yeah that could be fun especially with the guarding I have run on the saw boxes.

You Michigan guys...we're getting a lot of snow this winter, but I can still see most of the harvester head. Rotator deep is pretty tough!

9-12" for us shortly. 👎 Couple patches here and there but most of it's been gone.

Been working harder than an ugly stripper the last couple days, probably got about 300 to pick up and get out.

I'm going to literally run that thing till the wheels fall off, not as fast and fancy as the newer ones but it's just brutal, if I can pick it up its going.

Yeah were into a 3 day patch of rain here.  Like walking on a greased mirror.  A sloped one in tennessee's case.

Walnut comes walnut goes.  This 40k-50k feet is almost wrapped up but for trucking.

I have some unusual stuff to cut next, field cleanups, mulberry/locust/etc.  Then some WO jobs then back to the nicest hardwood stand I've had the pleasure to manage.

I'm north of skeans and we got 3 feet. The big issue here is that it's wet and we don't have as many plows. This is a once every 20 year snow. We can't get log trucks out and when it breaks up we will have to ask the landowner if we can turn his property into a mud pit.

Today here looks like break up so we have to be careful or the state will be down your throat at muddy water in the creeks.

Pretty much everything here here is in high need. Every mill is begging for aspen. Even our pulp markets a decent.

what's a "decent pulp market" look like for you? I'm just wondering how it compares to Maine.

Couple of nice ones, out in the open where the 648 can handle them.

Almost.

Last two I dropped on my outside contract job before the rain shut us down for summer.
