More bad news in the Bangor Daily today. Old Town Pulp is now closing.

They said high wood prices was part to blame.............., They paid some of the lower prices for round wood! May have been the cost in having it chipped and hauled in. They have to buy clean chips to operate.

With Lincoln and Old Town closing that must hurt Gardiner's and Carrier's who did the chipping for these mills

Yes not good. Another blow to the Lincoln area. HC Haynes is one of the 5 top creditors owed money from  LP&P. They were in a similar position when East Mill went out.

There is one pulp mill left operating in British Columbia, the country's largest soft wood producer. The more isolated communities are being abandoned, there is nothing else to keep them going. :'( This is hitting hard.

is that mill close to rossland? i was out there last week. i found out how long it takes to drive from calargy to vancover. 2 days if you dont stop to look around
