My Granddaddy used to tell me they would cut pulpwood with a crosscut saw and ax.  This must have been where he sold it.  Was once the a major mill, with its own village of houses for its employees, went down during the great depression.

wow 5.50 a cord in 1918 now you cant hardly give soft wood pulp away here
in New Hampshire

yeah soft wood pulp alot of memories for me

to compare price if my memories is good in 2006 me and my brother had 126 dollars canadian a cord . after that market went down and we stop that

we were shipping to trois rivieres pq ( kruger)

With inflation it works out to $86.67/cord. So things haven't really changed: logging is a tough business to make a living at.
